- There are three levels of higher education in Russia: undergraduate (Bachelor’s) and postgraduate

- After completing the aspirantura level, students defend their thesis (research project) and get
granted an academic rank of Candidate of Sciences.
- The duration of aspirantura level in Russia is 3 or 4 full-time years.
